"Buy less, choose well, make it last."
- Vivienne Westwood
We believe that climate change is the single biggest issue facing humanity and our planet. We believe that every person and company must do their part to reduce their environmental impact as soon as possible. As a brand, we take this responsibility seriously.
The manufacture of new clothing can be very harmful to the environment. This is particularly so for synthetic fabrics like polyester, which is derived from petroleum and often uses large amounts of water and toxic dyes during its production. We recognize the impact that producing our clothing has on the environment, and we seek to reduce this impact. Sustainable fashion as an industry is in its infancy, but it is growing, with exciting new initiatives being developed all the time that aim to reduce the negative environmental impact of clothing manufacture. We commit to using these new technologies and processes wherever we can. We commit to doing as much as we can to reduce our environmental footprint.
Human exploitation is common in the clothing industry. Poor working conditions, salaries below minimum wage, and unsafe work practices are often the price paid for having garments made for very low prices. We commit to ethical manufacture of our clothing, meaning that we support fair wages and working conditions.
We commit to using fabric made from recycled sources (e.g. discarded carpets, fishing nets rescued from the ocean) where possible, where it does not compromise quality. We commit to keeping up to date with new technologies for production of fabrics with reduced environmental impact. We aim to be at the forefront of our industry in the use of recycled fabrics.
We commit to using only ethical manufacturing facilities in the sewing of our pole wear. By ethical, we mean that people involved in producing our garments are paid fairly and experience fair working conditions.
We commit to using the highest quality fabrics and craftsmanship. By investing in clothing that is long-lasting, you won’t need to replace it as often. In a world of fast fashion, we want you to cherish each piece of pole wear you buy from us for years to come. So we will make the best quality pieces we can.
We will provide instructions for our customers to help them reduce the energy costs of caring for their pole wear. Well cared for pole wear will last longer and reduce customers need to buy more to replace it.
We commit to regular investigation of our supply chain, so that we can quickly identify steps in this chain where we can reduce our environmental footprint and improve ethical manufacture.
We commit to keeping up to date with developments in sustainable and ethical fashion that will allow us to continually reduce our impact on the environment.
We will transition to using recycled and low environmental-impact packaging, and commit to eliminate use of unnecessary packaging.
We will encourage our customers to buy what they need and no more, and to recycle, repair or swap their pole wear.
We commit to donating 1% of annual profits to organisations committed to environmental preservation.
